Answer: Shivraj Singh Chauhan

Explanation:

Shivraj Singh Chauhan is currently serving as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, a position he has held multiple times throughout his political career. He belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and has been one of the most prominent political figures in the state for over two decades.

Chauhan first became the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh in November 2005, following the resignation of Babulal Gaur. He then served continuously from 2005 to 2018, making him one of the longest-serving chief ministers in the state's history. During this period, he earned the nickname "Mama" (maternal uncle) due to his approachable nature and connect with the common people, especially farmers.

In the 2018 Assembly elections, the BJP lost power to the Indian National Congress, and Kamal Nath became the Chief Minister. However, this tenure was short-lived due to political instability caused by the resignation of several Congress MLAs led by Jyotiraditya Scindia, who later joined the BJP. This led to the fall of the Congress government in March 2020.

Following the political crisis, Shivraj Singh Chauhan was once again sworn in as the Chief Minister on March 23, 2020. He successfully led the BJP in the 2023 Assembly elections, where the party won a decisive victory, securing 163 seats out of 230 in the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly. This victory allowed him to continue as the Chief Minister for another term.

Born on March 5, 1959, in Jait village of Sehore district, Chauhan has been actively involved in politics since his youth. He started his political journey with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) during his college days. He has also served as a Member of Parliament from the Vidisha constituency before taking up the role of Chief Minister.

Throughout his tenure as Chief Minister, Chauhan has focused on various developmental initiatives, particularly in agriculture, infrastructure, and social welfare. He has been instrumental in implementing several farmer-friendly schemes and has worked towards making Madhya Pradesh a leading agricultural state in India. His administration has also emphasized education, healthcare, and women's empowerment through various government programs and policies.
