उत्तर: ‘जाग तुझको दूर जाना’ कविता में कवयित्री का मानव को उत्साहित करने का तथ्य यह है कि वह विपरीत परिस्थितियों में भी आगे बढ़े और उन्होंने इसे निम्नलिखित तरीके से प्रस्तुत किया है,

कवयित्री कह रही है कि हिमालय के हृदय में कम्पन है। यह भूकंप पैदा कर सकता है लेकिन आपको आगे बढ़ते रहना है। इस कंपन से डरना नहीं है
जब प्रलय की स्थिति आती है तो ऐसी स्थिती में व्यक्ति घबरा जाता है। ऐसे में घबराना नहीं है आगे बढ़ते रहना है।
अगर चारों तरफ घना अंधेरा छाया है। कुछ दिख नहीं रहा है तब भी आपको आगे बढ़ते रहना है।

2. कवयित्री किस मोहपूर्ण बंधन से मुक्त होकर मानव को जागृति का संदेश दे रही है ? उत्तर :कवयित्री मानव का सांसारिक माया-मोह, सुख-सुविधाओं, भोग-विलास, नाते-रिश्ते आदि के बंधनों से मुक्त होकर निरंतर अपने लक्य की ओर बढ़ते रहने के लिए जागृति का संदेश दे रही है।

3.‘ जाग तुझको दूर जाना’ स्वाधीनता आंदोलन की प्रेरणा से रचित एक जागरण गीत है। इस कथन के आधार पर कविता की मूल संवेदना को लिखिए।

उत्तर: महादेवी वर्मा ने एक ऐसी कविता की रचना की जिसका तात्पर्य देश के लोगों को स्वतंत्रता के प्रति जागरूक बनाना था। देश गुलामी के जंजीरों में जकड़ा था। लोग स्वतंत्रता चाहते थे। लेकिन उस लड़ाई में सीधे तौर पर लड़ने से डरते थे। वे इसमें भाग लेने से डरते थे इसके पीछे का मुख्य कारण यह था कि वह स्वार्थी और आलसी थे। उनके अंदर देशभक्ति की भावना जगाने के लिए जागरण गीतों की रचना की गई| महादेवी ने एक ऐसे ही गीत की रचना की जो गीत सोए हुए भारतीयों को जगाता है। महादेवी ने भारतीयों को जागरूक करने के लिए उन्हें कठिनाइयों का सामना करने के लिए तैयार किया। उन्हें हर तरीके के बंधन से मुक्त होना है और बस बढ़ते रहना है तभी उन्हें स्वतंत्रता प्राप्त होगी।

4.निम्नलिखित पंक्तियों का काव्य-साँदर्य स्पष्ट कीजिए- (क) विश्व का क्रंदन ……….. अपने लिए कारा बनाना। (ख) कह न ठंडी साँस ………… सजेगा आज पानी। (ग) है तुझे अंगार-शय्या ………… कलियाँ बिछाना।

उत्तर :(क) इस पंक्ति में महादेवी वर्मा मानव से कहती हैं कि संसार दुखों से भरा हुआ है और चारों ओर पीड़ा का रुदन सुनाई देता है। ऐसे में क्या तुम जीवन की मौज-मस्ती में खो जाओगे? वह मानव को सचेत करती हैं कि संसार की पीड़ाओं से मुंह मोड़ने की बजाय, इन्हें नजरअंदाज न करो। सांसारिक मोह में पड़कर अपने जीवन को कैदखाना मत बनाओ। यहाँ प्रश्न और रूपक अलंकार का प्रयोग किया गया है। भाषा भावपूर्ण और तत्सम शब्दों से समृद्ध है, और इसमें चित्रात्मकता तथा गेयता का गुण है।

(ख) इन पंक्तियों में कवयित्री कहती हैं कि जब मनुष्य के भीतर पीड़ा की आग धधक रही होगी, तब उसकी आँखों में आँसू आएँगे। संघर्ष और जीवन की कठिनाइयों से गुजरकर, अगर उसकी हार भी हो जाती है, तो इसे एक विजय के रूप में देखना चाहिए, क्योंकि जैसे दीपक की लौ अमर होती है, उसी तरह मनुष्य को भी संघर्षों में जलना पड़ता है। उसे अंगारों की शय्या पर लेटकर दूसरों के लिए सुखद कलियाँ बिछानी होंगी। इसमें विरोधाभास अलंकार और प्रतीकात्मकता है। भाषा भावपूर्ण और तत्सम शब्दों से युक्त है, और उद्बोधनात्मक शैली का उपयोग किया गया है।

(ग) कवयित्री यहाँ मानव को संघर्ष में निरंतर बने रहने और अपने लक्ष्य की ओर बढ़ने की प्रेरणा देती हैं। उसे अंगारों की शय्या पर सोते हुए भी दूसरों के लिए सुख प्रदान करना है। इस संदेश के साथ, मानव को परमार्थ की प्रेरणा दी गई है। भाषा प्रतीकात्मक और लाक्षणिक है। रूपक अलंकार का उपयोग किया गया है और गेयता का गुण विद्यमान है।
